Aligarh: Twelve students of Aligarh Muslim University, belonging to different faculties and departments have been selected for the award of ICSSR Centrally-administered and full-term funded Doctoral Fellowship for the financial year 2024-25.
According to the result of the above fellowship declared on the website of the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), out of the 12 AMU students getting the doctoral fellowship, 11 have been selected for the grant under UGC-NET qualified category while one student has been given the fellowship under the Non-NET category.
These students are Rizwan Qasim, Aysha Khan, Rubab Mohsin, Firdaus, Haris Noor, Anam Fatima, Wajiha, Arshy Kamal, Md Sajid Raza, Rahoof Ahmed, Sabiha Khan and Mohammad Salman.
Another student, Suha Bilquis has been selected for the ICSSR Centrally Administered Short-Term Doctoral Fellowship for the financial year 2024-25.
The ICSSR grants Doctoral Fellowship to the PhD scholars to pursue their doctoral research in social and human sciences aimed at changing societal dynamics and social challenges through effective evidence-based research to fulfil India’s aspirations to become a global power.
The ICSSR has presently declared a list of 473 research scholars for the grant of Centrally-administered and full-term funded Doctoral Fellowship for the financial year 2024-25, who will pursue their research in 28 comprehensive fields of Social and Human Sciences, including Economics / Development Studies, Management, Commerce, Sociology/Social Work, Social Anthropology, Culture Studies, Sanskrit Studies, Socio-Philosophical Studies, Sociolinguistics, Gender Studies, Health Studies, Political Science, International Relations/ Geopolitics, Public Administration, Diaspora Studies, National Security and Strategic Studies, Education and Skilling, Social Psychology, Legal Studies, Social and Human Geography, Environmental Studies, Modern Social History, Media Studies, Library Science, Language Studies, Indian Knowledge Systems, Rural Studies and Divyangjan Studies.
Prof Arif Nazeer, Dean, Faculty of Arts congratulated the selected students and hoped their research work will be beneficial to the human kind and will contribute to the development of the country.
Prof Shafey Kidwai, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, while congratulating these students on receiving the full-term fellowship, urged them to adopt innovative and Artificial Intelligence (AI) supported research methodologies to make their research work more reliable, effective and with a multidisciplinary relevance.
