Kolkata, Jan. 28: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind West Bengal Women Wing and GIO Kolkata organized GIO Skill Development Program at M.M. Model School here Sunday. Fifty-five girls participated in the program.
The program started with a recitation of the Qur’ān. Thereafter, Ahmed Farooque, Ameer Maqami Taltala delivered the inaugural speech. Calligraphy trainers Sadia Tabassum Khan and Intesab Anjum also shared their experiences.
The guests, Uzma Alam, Member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board; and Dr Alia Medical Officer Unani Medicine addressed the girls.
The program Coordinator was Dr Saba Taj, Asst Nazma, Metrocity Kolkata.
The organizers awarded 25 girls who successfully completed the basic Arabic calligraphy course. More than 45 girls registered themselves for new batches of Arabic calligraphy, English calligraphy, Tajweed, Tafseer and for Hifz classes.
