9th District-Level Talent Honours Ceremony Celebrated in Jhunjhunu

Jhunjhunu: The 9th district-level Talent Honours Ceremony, organised by Al-Kureish Welfare Society at Community Development Building here. The event recognised the academic and professional achievements of 120 talented students from across the district, representing 60 villages.

The event’s chief guest was philanthropist Haji Rabbani Usman Ganni Khokar, with Dr. Mumtaz Ali Kureishi of Churu presiding. The programme began with Quran recitation by Qari Maroof, followed by a translation by Maulana Shakiruddin.

Founder Abdul Majeed Kureishi delivered a welcome address, emphasising the society’s commitment to supporting young talent over the past nine years and advocating for the establishment of a women’s college and hostel in the district to further educational opportunities for the community. The community members present pledged their support for this initiative.

State President of SIO, Muhammad Adil Saifi, addressed the audience on the importance of combining religious and worldly education, encouraging students to uphold humanity and integrity. SIO State Secretary Salim Akhtar highlighted the role of knowledge, urging students to pursue their goals with diligence and respect for cultural values.

Special guest Sweta Swami, recently selected for the state judicial service, shared insights from her journey, inspiring students to pursue their goals with focus and determination.

In his address, Dr. Mumtaz Ali Kureishi, who presided over the event, praised the society’s work and advised parents to nurture their children’s interests while ensuring they have access to quality education and resources. He announced that a larger community meeting would be held in Churu next month to further support the development of the Kureish community.

The ceremony honoured students who scored over 85% in 10th and 12th grade, 60% in undergraduate programmes, and 55% in postgraduate studies, as well as Quran Hafiz graduates and those selected for NEET or government positions. These students received certificates and emblems of appreciation.

The event concluded with the national anthem and dua. The programme was conducted by lecturers Mohammad Mustafa Kureishi and Abdul Majeed Kureishi.

Prominent participants included Haji Yakub Theem, Mohammad Jafar, Sharif Kureishi, Mufti Shafiq Aves Kureishi, and Engineer Mumtaz Ali from Jamaat-e-Islami, along with many others who gathered to support the honourees and celebrate their achievements.
