Hoarding Collapse in Mumbai Injures Dozens, Rescue Operation Underway

Mumbai, May 13: A tragic incident unfolded in the Ghatkopar area of Mumbai today as a massive iron hoarding collapsed onto a petrol pump amid heavy rain and strong winds, reports Vartha Bharati. At least 14 persons have been killed and 74 others rendered injured.

The collapse occurred around 4:30 pm near Chheda Nagar Gymkhana, prompting an immediate response from the fire brigade and police forces. Rescue efforts are currently underway, with both local authorities and an NDRF team mobilized to the scene.

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani confirmed the involvement of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and stated that cranes and gas cutters have been deployed to aid in the rescue operation.

The injured have been swiftly transported to Rajawadi Hospital for treatment. However, concerns remain high as efforts continue to locate and rescue those potentially trapped under the debris.

As the rescue operation unfolds in Mumbai, authorities are urging caution and patience from the public as they work tirelessly to ensure the safety of those affected by this tragic incident.
