Kaka Sayeed Ahmad’s death is a big loss for the Muslim community: JIH President Syed Sadatullah Husaini

13 May 2024: The President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Syed Sadatullah Hussaini has condoled the death of Maulana Kaka Sayeed Ahmed, General Secretary of Jamia Darussalam Oomerabad (Tamil Nadu).

The JIH President said, “In the passing away of Maulana Kaka Sayeed Ahmed, the Indian Muslim community has lost a sincere scholar, administrator, and social worker. His death is a great loss for the Muslim community of India. Kaka Sayeed Ahmed was the General Secretary of the famous educational institution of South India – Darussalam Oomerabad. This Madrasa progressed a lot under his tenure and made a unique name for itself in the world of knowledge. He was also the Vice President of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB). He belonged to the Kaka family of Oomerabad, who have rendered invaluable services to education and social service. His paternal grandfather, Muhammad Umar, who was a big leather merchant, established a Madrasa in 1924 called Jamia Darussalam.”

The JIH chief said, “One of the outstanding characteristics of late Maulana Kaka Sayeed Ahmed was his combination of being all-embracing and moderate, which is the true essence of Islam. He valued the positive services of all institutions and groups of the community and encouraged all kinds of religious and community activities. He had a deep yearning for the task of inviting people to Islam. The training workshops held under his auspices on the subject of Da’wah were very useful and a large number of Da’ee scholars were produced through them.”

Mentioning the late Kaka Sayeed Ahmed’s sincerity and cooperation towards Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Syed Sadatullah said, “He was highly appreciative of the services of the Jamaat. He had a special relationship with the former President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, who was a graduate of his institution – Darussalam, Oomerabad. He always patronized and encouraged other leaders of JIH including me. We pray that Allah Almighty through His special Grace forgives him, grants patience to his kith and kin, and fills the great void created in the Muslim community by his death. Aamin!”
