MANUU VC condoles death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi

Hyderabad, May 21: Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) expressed his deep sorrow over the death of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Syed Ebrahim Raisi and other senior Iranian officials in a helicopter crash.

He said that during Raisi’s Presidency, the cordial relations between India and Iran had gained more stability. His death caused an irreparable loss to Indians, especially teachers and scholars of Persian and those interested in Indo-Iranian literature and culture.

A condolence meeting was held at MANUU’s Department of Persian and Central Asian Studies (DP&CAS) here today. Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, MANUU read out the condolence message of the Vice Chancellor.

The Registrar said that the steps taken by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Syed Ebrahim Raisi, to establish better relations between the nations of the world and to end mutual differences are unforgettable.

Prof. Aziz Bano, Dean, School of Languages, Dr. Syeda Asmath Jahan, Head, DP&CAS also addressed and described the death of the President of Iran as an irreparable loss. He was declared a leader whose memory will always remain in hearts.

The teachers, scholars and students of Persian Department at MANUU Hyderabad campus, Lucknow campus and Srinagar Campus attended the meeting and expressed deep condolences.
