A member of royal family of Dubai and chairman of MBM Group Sheikh Mohammed Maktoum honoured Syed Khaleel ur Rahman, Ruknuddin Abdul Khadir Basha, and Abdul Bari Mohtasham with Karnataka Ratna awards in Dubai on September 10.
The contribution of these awardees, who hail from Bhatkal, has a global impact, observed the organizing committee of Gulf Karnatakotsova.
A total of 21 exemplary ‘Most Influential Business individuals’ were honoured on the occasion who have also contributed significantly to the welfare of their communities and the betterment of Karnataka.
Another prominent awardee included Dr. Thumbay Moideen, who has made a remarkable contribution in Medical Education and Healthcare sector of UAE. He holds the distinction of being world’s only businessman from Karnataka to own a private medical university outside of India.
The Gulf Karnatakotsava was a celebration of success and a testament to the strong ties between Karnataka and the Gulf countries. It highlighted the contributions of Kannadigas in fostering cultural exchange, economic growth, and mutual understandings according to B.K. Ganesh Rai of Gulf Karnatakaotsova.
