Press Club of India and Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan Ink MoU, Economic Times Diplomatic Editor Receives Prestigious Golden Pencil International Award

New Delhi, May 23: In a significant move to bolster media collaboration and coverage, the Press Club of India and the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a formal ceremony held at the Press Club of India. This landmark agreement is designed to strengthen mutual cooperation and forge stronger relationships between the media organizations of both nations.

The MoU was signed by Gautam Lahiri, President of the Press Club of India, and Salimov Khulmorod Khodjayevich, Acting Chairman of the Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan, in the presence of Uzbek Ambassador to India, Sardor Rustambayev.

The event celebrated the deep historical and cultural ties between India and Uzbekistan, with both sides expressing optimism about enhancing people-to-people connections in the coming years. It was noted that Uzbekistan is merely a two-hour flight from Delhi, making it an increasingly favored destination for Indian tourists.

In recognition of his outstanding work on Central Asia, Dipanjan Roy Chaudhury, Diplomatic Editor of the Economic Times, was honored with Uzbekistan’s prestigious Golden Pencil International Award. The PCI extended warm congratulations to the Uzbek delegation for this significant achievement in fostering international media cooperation.
