Sharalkoppa, Karnataka, May 28, 2024: The Children Islamic Organization (CIO) of Sharalkoppa launched a summer Islamic camp on May 20, which culminated yesterday with a grand “Back to School” rally. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of over 60 students, who marched through the streets and alleys of Sharalkoppa, chanting slogans emphasizing the importance of education and urging the public to enroll their children in schools.
Sharalkoppa boasts three CIO centers, all of which participated in the rally. Mentors and students from each center came together for this significant event. Shabana Parveen, the in-charge of the Umar Farooq Mosque Center, explained the purpose of the summer Islamic camp. She highlighted how daily literary and cultural competitions, alongside religious education, underscored the importance of worldly knowledge. She stressed that education is the cornerstone of both individual and national development. The initiative aims to bridge educational gaps regardless of religious and community differences, urging parents to prioritize school admissions for their children, particularly those who have dropped out.
Tasneem Parveen, responsible for another center, reinforced the rally’s message with the slogan “Education for Every Home,” emphasizing the need to educate both boys and girls equally. The rally aimed to instill this message in every household.
Young students, Humaira Naseem and Reiha Firdous, delivered speeches in Urdu and Kannada, highlighting the imminent start of school admissions on May 29. They passionately addressed the issue of child labor and household chores keeping children away from school, urging everyone to recognize the importance of education. Their message was clear: educating the younger generation is essential for the nation’s progress.
The rally also saw active participation and support from local dignitaries, including Mohammed Hussain, the local leader, and Mohammed Sajid Saleem, the Secretary of the Board of Islamic Education. Key contributors like Zabiullah, and CIO mentors Bibi Amina, SIO leaders Mohammed Nizamuddin, and Abdul Rahman played pivotal roles in the event’s success.
The rally concluded with a powerful message to the residents of Sharalkoppa: “Education is Strength, Education is Light, Education is Progress, and Education Ensures a Bright Future.” The event underscored the collective responsibility to ensure that no child is left behind in receiving an education.
