Kozhikode: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) Women’s Wing National Secretaries Rahmathunnissa A. and Shaista Rafat, Markaz Khawateen Executive Committee Member Rajeena Begum and Kerala Zone General Secretary Naseem K T visited Al Jamia Al Islamiya Santhapuram on September 11. Shaista Rafat extensively addressed the role and responsibilities of students in the contemporary era. She interacted with Malayali students on the scope and significance of the Urdu language and literature.
Shaista Rafat’s influential address on Urdu language and literature made the students realise the value of Urdu as a unifying language and a bridge across borders. She emphasised the significant role of Urdu in the preservation of culture and identity. Her comprehensive discussion encouraged the students to learn and appreciate the Urdu language and literature, especially in the current Indian context when hatemongers and propagandists are erasing the rich heritage of the Urdu language and propagating misconceptions about it.
