MLA Nand Kishor Gurjar Demands Immediate Closure of Meat Shops in Loni

8 July 2024: Nand Kishor Gurjar, BJP MLA from Loni in Ghaziabad district, known for his outspoken statements, once again went viral on social media. This time, he demanded the closure of meat shops in his constituency, starting immediately. While the Chief Minister and the state government have instructed that meat shops should not open during the month of Shravan, MLA Nand Kishor Gurjar wants these shops closed forthwith.

In a video posted on social media on Sunday, Gurjar warned that if any meat shop is found open in the Loni constituency from tomorrow, the concerned officials will face strict action. “No matter how powerful the official is, they will not be spared, and stringent action will be taken against them,” he asserted.

In the video, the MLA stated that meat shops are generally not allowed to open in the Loni area, but with the onset of Gupt Navratri and the upcoming holy month of Shravan, the presence of meat shops is unacceptable. “With Kanwariyas arriving and the atmosphere of purity, it is disgraceful to have even a single meat shop open,” he said. He directed district administration officials, the concerned food inspector, and the chowki in-charge to ensure no meat shops open from tomorrow. “I will personally inspect the area, and if any shop is found open, the concerned official will face consequences,” he warned.

Gurjar mentioned that he has received complaints about meat shops being open in certain parts of the Loni area, particularly targeting the Loni Tiraha chowki in-charge. The MLA has previously been aggressive on the issue of meat shops and remains in the spotlight for his statements. Recently, he wrote to the Lok Sabha Speaker, questioning the Hindu identity of Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and demanded the cancellation of his Lok Sabha membership on charges of hiding his religion, accusing him of sedition. This letter was in response to Rahul Gandhi’s remarks in the Lok Sabha, describing Hindus as violent.
