Time to Groom New Political Leaders

It’s time for the community to groom future political leaders. More than 50 candidates who secured third position in the recent parliamentary elections could be a good option. A state-wise analysis of such candidates given below can be plank for both individuals and the community as such.

In Uttar Pradesh, the following 19 candidates from BSP and one from Peace Party stood third in their respective constituencies. Even though the BSP candidates are labeled as game spoilers in this elections but still if planned strategically these candidates can get well placed. Other levels of political power centres should definitely be considered duly.

Mujahid Husain of Bahujan Samaj Party secured 164099 votes in Amroha. Even though he is considered the cause of defeat of former MP Kanwar Danish Ali of INC, he has procured sizable votes.

Qamar Hayat Ansari of Ambedkar Nagar secured 199499 votes. He is former Jalalpur Nagar Palika chairman.

Abid Ali in Anola got 95630 votes. Mashhod Sabeeha Ansari from Azamgarh received 179839 votes. Javed Ashraf alias Javed Simnani in Gorakhpur got 55781 votes.

Mohammad Irfan Advocate in Etah secured 71585 votes. Hembaboo Dhangar from Hathras received 201263 votes. Imran Bin Zafar in Kannauj gained 81639 votes. Mohammad Sarwar Malik from Lucknow 30195 votes.

Mo Mausme Alam in Maharajganj secured 32956 votes. Md Irfan from Moradabad got 92313 votes. Zeeshan Khan in Rampur secured 79692, against Mohibulla Nadvi of SP (winner).

Majid Ali in Saharanpur got 180353. Chaudhary Saulat Ali in Sambhal secured 152460 votes. Ather Jamal Lari from Varanasi received 33766 against Narendra Modi.

Nadeem Ashraf from Sant Kabir Nagar got 150812 votes. Anis Ahmed Khan (Phool Babu) in Pilibhit secured 89697 votes.

Muinuddin Ahamad Khan urf Hazi Daddan Khan in Sharawasti received 56251 votes.

Muslim Khan of Bahujan Samaj Party 97751 votes in Badaun constituency. He was Member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly (2007–2012, 15th assembly) of Dataganj Constituency.

While the Peace Party candidate Irshad Ansari Advocate, in Bareilly, got 3553, votes.

Similarly, in Uttarakhand, two candidates from Bahujan Samaj Party got fourth place but considering the tough turf they deserve upbringing. Akhtar Ali from Nainital got 23455 votes and Jamil Ahmad in Haridwar received 42323 votes.

In Bihar, Akhtarul Iman of AIMIM from Kishanganj secured 3rd position with 309264 votes, against Tariq Anwar of INC.

Mohammad Ajmer Alam, Independent, Purvi Champaran, secured 13047 votes.

Saiqua Nawaz Azmat in Sitamarhi, a lady contesting as independent and securing 28912 votes cannot be ignored.

In Assam, Sahabul Islam Choudhury of AIUDF, Karimganj secured 29205 votes. He cut the chances of Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Choudhry of INC who lost to BJP candidate by just 18360 votes.

Aminul Islam, AIUDF Nagaon, secured 137340 votes and Zabed Islam, Asom Gana Parishad secured 438594 votes in Dhubri.

While in Andhra Pradesh two candidates from INC got 3rd position:BA Samad Shaheen in Hindupur, who secured 55059 votes and Shaik Basheer in Rajampet who got 53300 votes.

In a state like Chhattisgarh, and Muslim candidate contesting as independent and getting third position is not an ignorable matter. A.H. Siddiqui did this in Rajnandgaon, by securing 10737 votes.

Another challenging ground, Gujarat saw Mohammed Danish Desai dared to fight against Amit Shah of BJP in Gandhinagar, and got 3rd position. He secured only 7394 votes.

In Udhampur of Jammu and Kashmir, Ghulam Mohd Saroori contested as independent, and got 3rd position by securing 39599 votes against BJP candidate.

Jharkhand is another state which deserves more attention. Md. Eklak Ansari fought as independent from Dhanbad, and got 3rd place by securing 79653 against BJP.

In Maharashtra, six Muslims got third place in various constituencies. Abdul Samad Bagwan of All India Majlis-e-Inquilab-e-Millat, contested in Aurangabad and secured 1482 votes. Hayatulah Abdulah Shaikh from Akhil Bharatiya Muslim League (Secular) contesting from Mumbai North Central secured just 821 votes and still got 3rd place. Four candidates from Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi got third position in their respective constituencies. Md. Sahabuddin shaikh sulemani thakur from Kalyan, secured 18741 votes. Daulat Kadar Khan in Mumbai North East, Maharashtra, secured 14657 votes. Afzal s. Dawoodani from Mumbai South secured only 5612 votes and Abul Hasan Ali Hasan Khan contested from South Central Mumbai and got 23867 votes.

In three of the seven constituencies in Delhi, Muslim candidates from Bahujan Samaj Party stood third position. Abul Kalam Azad in Chandni Chowk secured just 5829 votes. Mohd. Waqar Choudhary in East Delhi, 9197 votes and Abdul Basit in South Delhi got 9861 votes.

Odisha also had Syed Yashir Nawaz of Congress who contested in Bhubneshwar, secured 3rd, by scoring 66362 votes.

Rajasthan saw Fazal Hussain from BSP contesting in Alwar, secured 3rd position by scoring 19287 votes.

In Telangana Mohammed Waliullah Sameer of Congress, Hyderabad stood 3rd by securing 62962 votes where Asaduddin Owaisi of AMIM won the election.

West Bengal is another state where more than 10 Muslim candidates were in third position. Four of them from Communist Party of India (Marxist); Nirab Khan from Bardhaman Purba secured 176899 votes, Pratik Ur Rahaman, Contesting from Diamond Harbour secured 86953 votes, Saira Shah Halim in Kolkatta Dakshin secured 168581 votes and  S.M. Sadi got 180201 votes in Krishnanagar  against Mahua Moitra of TMC.

Four candidates fielded by INC also stood third; Milton Rashid in Birbhum got 226260 votes, Mostaque in Maldha scored 384764 votes, Ali Imran Ramz, Raiganj secured 263273 votes and Azahar Mollick from Ulberia got 78589 votes against Sajda Ahmed of TMC (winner). Akhtar Rahaman Biswas contested on All India Secular Front ticket in Basirhat and got 123500 votes while Shahnawaz Ali Raihan, All India Trinamool Congress in Maldha Dakshin secured 301026 votes.

In Tamil Nadu two Muslim candidates including a woman though got fourth position but their score is impressive and promising. Afshia Nasrin of Naam Tamilar Katchi party in Arkkonam, secured 98944 votes while Humayun Kabir of the same party in Tanjavur, Tamil Nadu scored 120923 votes.

In Kerala AM Ariff of CPI(M) from Alappuzha got third position this time with 28912 votes. He had won the last parliamentary elections of 2019 from the same constituency.
