Udupi: Huge rise in Suvarna river water level; Padukudru, a house in a carpet garden, water seeping into the road

Udupi, August 1, 2024: The Suvarna river water level is flowing beyond the danger level and the riverside areas are getting flooded, reports The Hindustan Gazette.

In Kemmannu Gram Panchayat’s Kambaltota and Padukudru areas, water has entered many houses, while some other house premises have been flooded. Roads are waterlogged and disconnected.

It is currently raining heavily in the coastal area and if the rain continues, there is concern that the situation will become critically alarming.

The HRS Udupi, Thonse, a non-governmental team operating in the emergency situation, went to the affected areas and carried out inspections and is ready to undertake relief and rehabilitation measures. A team of the HRS Udupi has also gone to Wayanad, Kerala to do relief work and rehabilitate landslides victims of Wayanad.
