11 Aug. 24: Outrage and condemnation have erupted across the Middle East following a deadly Israeli airstrike on a school in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the deaths of over 100 Palestinians and left dozens more injured. The attack, which occurred during morning prayers at a school in the Daraj area of Gaza on Saturday, has been widely denounced by regional leaders, reported Al Jazeera.
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani strongly condemned the airstrike, highlighting the critical role women play during times of conflict and stressing that no significant progress is achieved without their involvement. Similarly, Pakistan’s National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq condemned the strike, accusing the Zionist regime of committing genocide in Palestine while the world remains silent.
Mohammad Abdul Salam, the spokesman for the Yemeni Ansarullah movement, also condemned the airstrike, labeling the actions of the Zionist regime as “fascist.” He criticized the United States for supporting Israel in its ongoing conflict with Gaza, which has seen nearly 40,000 Palestinians killed since last October. The war has devastated Gaza’s infrastructure, destroying 70% of homes and causing widespread famine.
The international community has been slow to react to the escalating violence in Gaza, despite the growing humanitarian crisis. As the situation continues to deteriorate, regional leaders are calling for a stronger global response to the ongoing atrocities.
