Dr. Idris Qureshi Welcomes Supreme Court’s Bulldozer Justice Observations, Calls for Peace and Legal Accountability

New Delhi, Sep 3: Dr. Idris Qureshi, Acting President of Delhi Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat, expressed his satisfaction with the Supreme Court’s recent observations, which prohibit the government from demolishing a person’s home with a bulldozer, regardless of whether or not the individual is guilty. Dr. Qureshi emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law in the country, warning against arbitrary actions by the government.

Expressing deep concern, Dr. Qureshi criticized individuals like Nitish Rane for openly threatening the nation without facing any legal consequences. He noted that such figures are spreading hatred, and despite holding positions of responsibility, they are violating the law. Dr. Qureshi questioned why the government has not taken any action against these individuals, urging legal steps against them to maintain the social fabric of the country.

Additionally, Dr. Qureshi appealed to the government to immediately withdraw the Waqf Amendment Bill. He argued that the government should refrain from interfering in religious matters and should strive to understand the sentiments of the people. He pointed out that there was no demand from the public for such a bill, questioning the government’s motivation for introducing it.

Dr. Qureshi concluded by stressing the necessity of maintaining peace and harmony in the country for the sake of its development.
