Moral Crisis Fueling Social Evils: JIH UP West Women’s Wing Calls for Action

Moradabad, Sep 6: The Women’s Wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind UP West has voiced grave concerns over the escalating incidents of domestic violence, women’s exploitation, and alarming crimes such as rape across the country. During a press conference held at the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind UP West Zonal Office here Friday, the group’s leaders emphasized that the root cause of these growing social ills is the decline in moral values.

Dr. Sanjeeda, Secretary of JIH Women’s Wing UP West, underscored that society’s disregard for ethical principles under the guise of freedom has led to significant social imbalance. She explained that the unrestrained pursuit of freedom has ensnared the younger generation in a cycle of despair, depression, and even suicidal tendencies. According to her, the only solution to this crisis is a return to the moral values that once upheld the fabric of our civilization.

The press conference also launched a nationwide campaign, “Morality is Freedom,” which will be held from September 1 to September 30. Asma Imtiaz, a member of the National Campaign Committee, pointed out that the deterioration of moral standards has led to the objectification of women, resulting in a steady increase in sexual violence and rape cases. She noted that this growing insecurity has made women fear leaving their homes. The campaign seeks to initiate a national conversation on the true nature of freedom and its deep connection to ethics, highlighting that genuine life satisfaction can only be achieved by adhering to moral values.

Arifa Khatoon, another Secretary of the Women’s Wing in JIH UP West, lamented that society has reached a stage where actions once considered immoral are now carried out openly without shame. She stressed that only by reinstating moral values can positive changes be brought about in society. The campaign will involve scholars, counselors, thinkers, religious leaders, lawyers, and social workers in a variety of awareness programs, including seminars, symposiums, discussions with young girls and women, and quiz competitions.

To promote moral values across society, the campaign will involve collaborative efforts with people from all religious backgrounds to maintain the dignity of Indian culture. It will transcend caste, creed, race, religion, and regional biases to awaken the public. Special programs with leaders of various faiths will be organized to make moral values a central topic of discussion across all communities.
