Jaipur Dialogue Emphasizes Morality as the Foundation of True Freedom

Jaipur: The Dharmic Jan Morcha Rajasthan hosted a dialogue on “Morality is the Basis of Freedom” at Hotel Indiana here Monday, drawing religious leaders from various faiths to discuss the interplay between morality and freedom.

Rubina Abrar, State Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Rajasthan Women’s Wing, highlighted that morality and freedom are intrinsically linked. She criticized western cultural practices for undermining the Indian family structure and called for a nationwide moral campaign to address the current moral decline.

Ram Rai Sharma from the Gayatri family emphasized the need for religious leaders to advocate for moral education, warning that neglecting this responsibility could jeopardize future generations. He asserted that true freedom is achieved within moral boundaries.

Dr. Denny Shaji from the Christian community expressed concern over materialism eroding genuine freedom. He stressed that religion fosters morality, which is essential for liberation from materialistic enslavement and advocated for balancing spiritual and material pursuits.

Shaista Rafat, JIH National Secretary, underscored the role of religion in maintaining societal balance. She urged religious leaders to actively teach moral values, asserting that societal freedom without morality is harmful.

Praveen Bhaiya from Acharya Peeth Shri Saras Nikunj and Father Vijay Pal from the Christian community echoed the call for integrating moral education into school curricula and launching broader campaigns against societal evils.

Mohammad Nazimuddin, JIH Rajasthan President, concluded the dialogue by reaffirming that morality is essential for true freedom. He expressed deep concern about the rise in societal evils and drug addiction among youth, calling for efforts to restore moral values and promote mutual love and harmony to counteract the growing unrest and hatred in society.

The event, conducted by Naim Rabbani, convener of Dharmic Jan Morcha Rajasthan, emphasized the vital role of morality in ensuring genuine freedom and the need for collective action to foster a more harmonious society.
