Iran’s President Calls for Global Peace and Justice at UN General Assembly

New York: In his address to the United Nations General Assembly, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the critical need for global peace and justice, stating that true progress can only be achieved by respecting the rights of all people and nations. Speaking at the 79th session of the UNGA, Pezeshkian expressed hope that the meeting’s focus on peace, sustainable development, and human dignity would pave the way for a brighter future for generations to come, reported The New York Times.

During his speech, Pezeshkian tackled a range of pressing issues, particularly those affecting West Asia. He condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza, referring to them as “terrorist crimes,” and criticized the violence in Lebanon. He argued that the path to ending the prolonged insecurity in the region lies in restoring the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to peacemaking efforts and highlighted the country’s role in shaping the emerging global order. His remarks underscore a call for unity and respect for human rights as fundamental to achieving lasting peace in a troubled world.
