JIH President Strongly Condemns Israeli Airstrikes on Beirut

New Delhi: In a statement, Syed Sadatullah Husaini, National President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, has vehemently condemned the recent Israeli airstrikes on Beirut, which resulted in the tragic loss of innocent lives, including that of Hezbollah Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah. The attacks, described as indiscriminate and brutal, have reportedly claimed the lives of approximately 40 individuals, prompting outrage from various quarters.

In his remarks, the JIH President characterized these actions as cowardly and inhumane, emphasizing the devastating impact on civilians caught in the crossfire. He expressed heartfelt condolences to the people of Lebanon during this tragic time and extended solidarity to all those resisting Israel’s oppressive and colonial policies in Palestine and other autonomous regions. “Israel’s aggressive actions are not just an attack on a specific group but represent a broader assault on humanity itself,” he stated.

Syed Sadatullah Husaini raised concerns about the methods employed by Israel, noting that the use of bunker-buster bombs in densely populated areas to target Hezbollah’s headquarters constitutes a gross violation of the Geneva Convention. He underscored that such tactics reflects a blatant disregard for international law and humanitarian principles, which are meant to protect civilians in conflict zones.

Moreover, Mr. Husaini pointed out the alarming implications of the assassination of a prominent leader like Hassan Nasrallah. Experts have warned that this act could further escalate tensions in an already volatile region, posing a serious threat to peace and stability not just in the Middle East but globally. The JIH President called upon the international community and the United Nations to take decisive and immediate action to mitigate tensions and prevent further violence.

Mr. Husaini offered prayers for the souls of the martyrs who lost their lives in these tragic events and expressed his condolences to their families. He urged the global community to unite against such acts of aggression and work towards establishing lasting peace and justice in the region.
