Society for Bright Future Leads Relief Efforts in Bihar

In response to flood fury in Bihar, volunteers of Society for Bright Future (SBF) have become pro-active and are working tirelessly on the ground to rescue those stranded by floodwaters and provide critical relief to the affected people in various districts that are badly affected.

The dedicated volunteers are collaborating closely with local authorities and other aid organizations to ensure that essential support, including food, clean water, and medical assistance, reaches those in dire need.

Severe floods have engulfed several parts of Bihar following heavy rainfall, leading to breaches in the Kosi River and Bagmati River in Darbhanga and Sitamarhi districts, respectively. Rising water levels in multiple rivers across the state over past two to three days have prompted the state government to issue a flood alert.

The affected districts include West and East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Vaishali, Patna, Jehanabad, Madhubani, Araria, Purnea, Katihar, and Bhojpur. According to officials, more than 1.6 million people have been affected by the ongoing flood crisis.

“We are committed to doing everything in our power to help those suffering due to these devastating floods. Our volunteers are striving to protect lives, provide shelter, and offer essential relief to the displaced and vulnerable,” said an SBF spokesperson.

The situation remains dire as the floodwaters continue to rise, posing significant challenges. However, the resilience and solidarity of the affected communities, alongside the tireless efforts of aid workers and volunteers, shine through as a beacon of hope during these trying times. Relief workers continue to operate round the clock to mitigate the impact of the disaster and provide assistance to those in distress.

The SBF calls upon the public and government bodies to continue supporting the relief efforts during this critical time.
