HWF Scholarships Awardee Tipu Alam Qualifies for Post-Doctoral Research in US

Dr. Tipu Alam, a recipient of Human Welfare Foundation (HWF) scholarships, has qualified for post-doctoral research in the United States. A native of Banshthupi, Salaidanga in Gazol, Malda, West Bengal, Dr. Alam has since made remarkable strides in his field.

Born to Dilsad Sekh, a cultivator, and Manjila Bibi, Dr. Alam comes from a modest background but has always demonstrated exceptional academic prowess. He completed his early education at Salaidanga High School and Danogram High School, later earning B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry (Honors) from Aligarh Muslim University in 2015 and 2017, respectively. He went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, which he completed in 2024. His doctoral research centered on Photo and Electrochemical Strategies for C-N Bond Formation.

Dr. Alam’s academic journey is further highlighted by his impressive performance in national-level examinations. In 2017, he secured an All-India Rank (AIR) of 97 in CSIR-Junior Research Fellowship (NET), alongside an AIR-580 in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and an AIR-846 in Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) in 2015.

Now, as he embarks on post-doctoral research in the United States, Dr. Alam continues to push the boundaries of chemistry with his innovative work. The HWF has congratulated Dr. Alam for this remarkable milestone. HWF wished him continued success in all his future endeavors.
