Jamiat Delegation Files Complaint at IPS Police Station, Demands Strict Action against Yati Narsinghanand

New Delhi: A delegation of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind(M) met the Ghaziabad Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra today, urging him to take strict legal action against Yati Narsinghanand, who had made highly derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The delegation said Narsinghanand has become a habitual offender who frequently makes offensive and derogatory speech against the Prophet and the Muslims.

The delegation led by General Secretary Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi also submitted a formal memorandum demanding strict legal action against Narsinghanand. The inflammatory statements have sparked widespread outrage and deep resentment within the Muslim community.

The delegation also lodged a complaint at the IPS Police Station, Delhi.

Maulana Hakimuddin Qasmi expressed deep pain caused by Narsinghanand’s offensive remarks about the Prophet. He reminded the police that Narsinghanand had been arrested two years ago on charges of delivering hate speeches but was released on bail with the condition that he would refrain from making any further inflammatory statements. However, despite these legal restrictions, Narsinghanand has continued to violate the terms of his bail.

Maulana Qasmi emphasized that this time Narsinghanand has gone too far, crossing all limits of decency by insulting Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Jamiat delegation urged the police to take immediate action under Sections 79, 196(A), 197(C) & (D), 299, 302, and 352 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Advocate Aqib Baig highlighted concerns regarding the FIR registered in Ghaziabad under Section 302 of BNS, explaining that it may not be sufficient to hold the offender accountable. He argued that failure to address the full scope of Narsinghanand’s criminal conduct could provide him with an opportunity to evade justice. Therefore, the delegation called for the inclusion of additional charges under the relevant sections of the law to ensure that the case is prosecuted to the fullest extent.
