Unani Medicine Has a Bright Future and is Popular among the Public: Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan
New Delhi: Under the mission “Unani Treatment at People’s Doorstep 2025,” the All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC) Delhi State organized its 95th free Unani medical camp at Jasola Vihar, Okhla Pocket 12, here. The camp offered free services, including eye check-ups, dental examinations, ECGs, and treatment for seasonal diseases. Patients began arriving at the camp from 10 AM, with the turnout continuing until 2 PM. A significant number of people benefited from the camp, receiving not only medical advice but also free medication. Around 300 individuals were provided with free medicines during the camp.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan, General Secretary of AIUTC, highlighted the growing popularity of Unani medicine.
“The increasing attendance at these camps is evidence of the widespread appeal of Unani medicine. The future of this pathy is bright, and it continues to gain public trust,” he said.
Dr. Khan also noted that these free medical camps offer people a valuable opportunity to learn about and seek treatment through Unani medicine.
Most of the patients at the camp were treated for common ailments such as diabetes, high blood pressure, colds, and flu.
Advocate Shahzabeen Qazi, also present at the event, emphasized the historical use of Unani medicine, stating that people have relied on Unani remedies in various forms over the ages. She mentioned that recent research on Unani medicines has further enhanced its reputation and popularity.
“Unani treatment is highly effective, and its remedies invigorate the body,” she added.
Prominent medical professionals, including Dr. Ilyas Mazhar Hussain, Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, and Dr. Altaf Ahmed, shared their insights at the camp. Doctors who provided their services included Dr. Giyasuddin Siddiqui, Dr. Muhammad Nazir, Dr. Faizan Ahmed Siddiqui, Dr. Ehsan Ahmed Siddiqui, Dr. Muhammad Arif Saifi, Dr. Asif, Hakim Naeem Raza, Hakim Murtaza Dehlavi, Hakim Aftab Alam Khan, Muhammad Muzammil, Gulfam Ali, and Khalil Ahmed.
The camp’s success was also credited to the efforts of volunteers such as Dinesh Dev, Sudhir Kumar, Sanwale Singh, Anand Kumar, Shabnam Khan, and Shahana Parveen, who worked diligently to ensure its smooth operation.
