Baba Siddique Murder: Opposition Criticizes M’rashtra Govt. over Law and Order Breakdown

Opposition leaders in Maharashtra have strongly criticized the state government following the brutal murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, expressing deep concern over the declining law and order situation.

Baba Siddique was shot multiple times by unidentified assailants in the Bandra East area of Mumbai on Saturday. The incident has led opposition parties to target the ruling Mahayuti alliance, blaming the government for the worsening security situation in the state.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge condemned the killing, calling it “shocking beyond words.” He expressed his condolences to Siddique’s family, friends, and supporters, urging the Maharashtra government to ensure a “thorough and transparent investigation” to bring justice.

NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar also voiced his anger, criticizing the state government for its handling of law and order. He demanded the resignation of officials responsible for the deteriorating situation, calling Siddique’s murder a reflection of the state’s inability to maintain public safety.

“The collapse of law and order in the state is alarming,” said Pawar.

“The killing of Baba Siddique in Mumbai, the country’s financial hub, is a grave concern. If those in power, including the Home Minister, continue to handle the state’s affairs so ineffectively, it sends a dangerous signal to the public. Accountability must be taken, and those responsible should step down.”

Both leaders stressed the need for immediate action and accountability, offering their heartfelt tributes to Baba Siddique and condolences to his family.
