Kolar: A programme highlighting the role of Islamic scholars in nation building and the community development was conducted here Wednesday. Ulama from neighbouring towns also attended the daylong programme conducted under the auspices of Majlisul Ulama Karnataka.
In his keynote address, the state organiser of the Majlis, Moulana Waheeduddin Umri Madani reminded the influence the Islamic scholars command in the society. They are the key players in opinion formation and transformation of individuals and the society as well. He emphasised the current turmoil the community and country are facing these days and how Ulama can be the saviours.
Earlier, the state coordinator of the Majlis, Laeequlla Khan Mansoori enlightened the gathering about the history and contributions of the Majlis through PowerPoint. Mufti Ateequr Rehman Rashadi presented the Quran discourse in the inaugural session.
