Bengaluru: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Karnataka concluded its annual Seerat Campaign recently, aligning with Rabi-ul-Awwal, the birth month of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. According to state secretary Mohammed Bilal, the campaign reached over 18,000 people through direct engagement and an additional 80,000 through various outreach efforts across the state.

A campaign report by Bilal highlighted the publication of a Kannada booklet, Prophet Muhammad, Emblem of Morality, created especially for this initiative. Additional leaflets and flyers containing the Prophet’s teachings were also distributed to participants.

The campaign included programmes like Seerat Provochan, college lectures, and symposiums at around 100 locations statewide. Thirty-five articles on the Prophet’s teachings, written in Kannada, were published in local newspapers.

In over 70 locations, gatherings were held for prayer leaders and Friday sermon speakers, with approximately 1,000 scholars attending. These sessions emphasised the importance of sharing the Prophet’s message with the wider community. Similar gatherings for community members were conducted at around 140 locations.

The campaign also included visits to hospitals and orphanages, as well as blood donation drives at several sites.

A Jamaat delegation, led by JIH secretary Akbar Ali, met with Chief Minister Siddaramiah to present him with the newly released Seerat book, Parwadi Muhammad Lekhna Sankalna. The Chief Minister expressed his support and wished success for the campaign.
