Telangana Minorities Commission Chairman Appeals for Participating in Survey

Hyderabad: Telangana Minorities Commission Chairman Tariq Ansari has appealed to minorities to participate in the comprehensive household survey which began across Telangana on November 6.

The survey is being conducted under the aegis of the Planning Department to plan and implement various socioeconomic, educational, employment and political opportunities for the amelioration of Backwards Classes, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe citizens and other weaker sections of the state.

Tariq Ansari said this survey will continue for the next month. Stating that this survey is being conducted after several years, the Minorities Commission chairman said it was essential for every individual to ensure the accurate inclusion of their ethnicity, religion, and sub-caste, such as Muslim Shaikh, Muslim Qureshi, Muslim Faqir, or any other relevant category.

“This step will not only aid in the recognition of our socio-economic rights but also pave the way for access to various government schemes and welfare policies. This survey will serve as a vital tool in aiding government planning to support deserving individuals in fields like education, socio-economic development, employment, and welfare of women and children,” he said in a statement.

Tariq Ansari stated that the Government schemes, whether they cater to students, women, or the unemployed, will only benefit “our people if our representation is thorough and accurate.”

He appealed to minority communities to record their complete and correct details in this significant survey, ensuring that ‘our rights are safeguarded and that future generations can benefit from government welfare initiatives.’

“As our population is counted accurately, our representation becomes more significant, easing our community’s access to opportunities and resources. Let’s seize this opportunity to ensure the welfare and progress of our community,” he added.
