Western Rajasthan Education Movement Organises Motivational Seminar in Pokaran

– Raheem Khan

Pokaran: In an initiative to inspire and motivate students towards achieving academic and personal excellence, the Western Rajasthan Education Movement (WREM) organised a seminar at Ar-Rasheed Memorial School here Thursday. WREM is a campaign led by Students Islamic Organisation (SIO) Rajasthan, aiming to uplift education standards across the region.

Salim Akhtar, WREM convener and state secretary of SIO Rajasthan, opened the programme, highlighting the goals of WREM. Akhtar emphasised that the movement seeks to bridge educational gaps in Western Rajasthan, promoting the value of education, encouraging higher literacy rates, reducing dropout rates, and fostering moral development among students.

“The Western Rajasthan Education Movement’s primary objectives,” he explained, “include creating awareness of education’s importance, increasing school enrolment, guiding students towards higher education, and emphasising moral values alongside academics.”

He added that WREM aims to inspire students to reach their potential and support those who may have left school to resume their studies.

The event featured Dr. Raheem Khan, Chief Editor of Janmanas Rajasthan, as the chief guest, while Mohammad Azam Khan, former state secretary of SIO Rajasthan, presided over the programme. The seminar began with Quran recitation by a student, followed by a heartfelt Naat presentation by Ashfaq, another student.

In his address, Dr. Raheem Khan encouraged students to pursue their dreams and highlighted the numerous career opportunities available to them. “You are all talented, and your potential is limitless,” he stated.

“Whether you aspire to become a doctor, engineer, teacher, or scientist, the key is to set your goal according to your interests and abilities and work with dedication to achieve it. The future of Pokaran, in twenty years, will reflect the aspirations you choose to pursue today.”

Charing the seminar, Mohammad Azam Khan emphasised the role of students in societal development, advocating for an education that nurtures moral values and respect for family and community.

“True education goes beyond academics; it teaches us about our roots, traditions, and responsibilities,” he said.

“A good teacher can profoundly impact a student’s life, shaping their future and instilling values essential for becoming responsible citizens. Today’s pressing need is to combine quality education with sound upbringing, balancing religious, modern, and technical knowledge.”

Maulana Mohammad Arshad, the school principal, extended vote of thanks to the guests and organisers. Abdul Razzaq Khan, a teacher, coordinated the event, which saw enthusiastic participation from staff and students alike.
