APCR Secures Bail for 19 Individuals in Nagamangala Violence Case

New Delhi: The Association for Protection of Civil Rights (APCR), in collaboration with other advocacy groups, has successfully secured bail for 55 individuals involved in the Nagamangala violence that occurred during the Ganesh procession on September 11, 2024.

This incident, registered under FIR No. 0088/24 at the Nagamangala Police Station, led to the arrest of 67 individuals. Advocate Nadeem Ahmed, President of APCR Mandya, played a pivotal role in representing 19 of the accused through bail petition (Ajaz Pasha Vs. State) Cr.Misc.632/2024, resulting in their release on September 27, 2024.

The court order emphasised the principle of criminal jurisprudence, stating, “Bail is Rule, Jail is an Exception.” APCR considers this legal victory a significant milestone in its efforts to promote justice and protect civil rights.
