Aligarh: The Department of Business Administration (DBA) at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), in collaboration with Dawakhana Tibbiya College (DTC), organised a Free Health Camp at Elaj-e-Kamil, the retail outlet of DTC. The camp aimed to provide accessible medical care, promote early diagnosis, and raise health awareness in the community.
AMU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Naima Khatoon served as the Chief Patron of the initiative, with Mr. Mohammed Imran, Registrar and Occupier of DTC, as the Patron.
The camp was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Prof. Asif Hasan, Chairperson of the Department of Cardiology, JN Medical College, who emphasised the importance of such initiatives in fostering preventive care and promoting health awareness.
Supervised by Prof. Salma Ahmed, Chairperson of DBA, and Mr. M. Shariq Azam, Officiating General Manager of DTC, the health camp offered free medical check-ups, medicines, and diagnostic tests such as blood glucose, hemoglobin, cholesterol, and TSH. A team of doctors led by Dr. Rubi Anjum and Prof. Zamir Ahmad provided the services.
The event saw an overwhelming response, with 522 patients receiving free medical consultations and 147 diagnostic tests conducted. Prof. Ahmed expressed gratitude to the Faculty of Unani Medicine and DTC for their support in making the initiative a success.
The health camp underscored AMU’s commitment to community welfare, bridging the gap between academia and public health services.
