AMU Department of Sunni Theology Holds Seminar on Future of Social and Religious Research

Aligarh: The Department of Sunni Theology, Aligarh Muslim University organised a seminar on “The Future of Social and Religious Research in the Era of Artificial Intelligence”.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the department, Prof Muhammad Habibullah Qasmi said that the computer is a unique facility in present times and it has proved to be a great boon to humanity if it is used mindfully for the development and growth of society.

He said that we should strengthen our relationship with books as we can make the best use of computers only if we are well armed with knowledge that transcends societies and ages.

In his keynote address, Dr. Khalid Anwar from Bennett University, Noida, stated that after the advent of artificial intelligence (AI), it is important for us to know how we can use it to promote religious and moral teachings. He said the AI is a double-edged sword and at a time it can be helpful while it can also be highly dangerous if used with malafide intentions.
