We all share the same God; we’re descendants of Adam and members of one family: JIH National Secretary Rahamathunnisa

Nagpur:  An interfaith “Intellectuals Meet” was organised by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Women’s Wing, Nagpur on the theme – “Communal Harmony and Nation-Building: Role of Women”.

Addressing the gathering, Ms. Rahamathunnisa, National Secretary of JIH Women’s Wing, Chief Editor of Aura online magazine, and Executive Member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, said, “We all share the same God, and as descendants of Adam, we are members of one family. If we understand this, communal harmony can be achieved. To establish unity and consensus in society, care, concern, connectivity, and coordination are essential.”

She further emphasised the need for peace and justice in the country, stating, “No one should face oppression; otherwise, today’s victim could become tomorrow’s oppressor.”

Shaista Rafat, General Secretary of Women’s Education and Empowerment Trust (TWEET) and a noted author and speaker, remarked, “Modern India must revive the unity and sovereignty of ancient India. We must stand together to oppose elements causing harm to the nation.”

Sajida Parveen, State Secretary of JIH Women’s Wing and Director of Relief Credit Society, Bhusawal, said, “Every religion advocates peace and harmony, yet the growing hatred in society is alarming. To address this, JIH Women’s Wing has established the Sadbhavna Manch (Harmony Platform) to foster unity among women of different faiths and address issues concerning their welfare.”

Dr. Sabiha Khan, City President of JIH Nagpur, Women’s Wing, expressed gratitude to the guests, stating that JIH promotes positive thinking.

“We must eliminate communication gaps and hold dialogues to protect the secular fabric of our Constitution,” she said.

Prominent social activists from Nagpur stressed that women must recognise their potential and contribute effectively across all fields. In the open session, educators stressed moral training, child safety, and monitoring mobile use to avoid divisive content. Women from NGOs highlighted skill development with education for positive societal roles. The programme, moderated by Dr. Shireen Khan, had active participation, including Vidarbha Secretary Ms. Nafisa Atique.
