Jamia Hamdard and Ras Al-Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University Sign MoU

New Delhi:  Jamia Hamdard welcomed a delegation from Ras Al-Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University, UAE, including President, Prof. Ismail Ibrahim Ali Matalka and Vice- President (Research), Prof. Mohamed El-Tannai here Monday for signing a Memorandum of Understanding between Jamia Hamdard and Ras Al-Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University. This MoU marks the beginning of a strategic academic and research collaboration aiming to enhance cooperation in education, joint research initiatives, faculty and student exchange programmes.

The day commenced with a warm welcome from Prof. Suhel Parvez, Chairman, Centre for Scientific and International Collaboration (CSIC) along with Guard of Honour by Jamia Hamdard NCC cadets. The delegation later met Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, who expressed his excitement about the collaboration. He highlighted Jamia Hamdard’s long-standing commitment to excellence in education and emphasised the importance of international partnerships for the future of academic and research pursuits.

Prof. Ismail Ibrahim Ali Matalka, President of RAKMHSU, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and noted that the collaboration would be a significant milestone for both the institutions, and the exchange of expertise.

After the formal welcome, the delegation was taken on a guided tour to the research facilities of the campus. The tour included visits to the NMR, TEM, Centre for Excellence of Unani Medicine, Tissue Culture, Confocal Microscopy, Computer Centre, Library and Herbal Garden etc. The RAKMHSU delegates were particularly impressed with the state-of-the-art infrastructure and Research facilities of Jamia Hamdard.

The visit culminated in the signing ceremony of a MoU between Jamia Hamdard and RAKMHSU at Pre-Function Room of Central Library where Prof. Mohamed El-Tannai presented the details of RAKMHSU and their research facilities. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) M. Afshar Alam, Dr. M.A. Sikandar, Registrar, Mr. S.S. Akhtar, Controller of Examinations, Deans of the Schools, Foreign Student Advisor, Members of the Centre for Scientific and International Collaboration and other officials attended the ceremony.

Prof. M. Afshar Alam, Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “This collaboration with RAK Medical and Health Sciences University marks a significant step forward in our mission to promote world-class education and research. We are excited to collaborate to enhance the skills and expertise of our students and faculty alike.”

Prof. Ismail Ibrahim Ali Matalka, President of RAKMHSU, also shared his thoughts: “This MoU brings our institutions together to share knowledge, resources, and best practices in various fields. We are delighted to collaborate with Jamia Hamdard, a prestigious institution with a strong legacy in research and education. Together, we can make significant contributions to the advancement of research in both India and the UAE.”

The ceremony ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Khan, Convener, Centre for Scientific and International Collaboration.
