Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party will convey RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement about searching for temples to the people. SP president Akhilesh Yadav has announced this. Notably, a few days ago, Mohan Bhagwat had remarked during a programme that some people are raising new issues about temples and mosques to become leaders of Hindus, which is unacceptable.
Akhilesh Yadav openly expressed his views on this statement by the RSS chief, saying that the Samajwadi Party will take Mohan Bhagwat’s statement to the public and ensure it reaches every citizen.
Referring to the finding of a locked temple in Khaggu Sarai near Sambhal, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Under the BJP and the government’s direction, the police and administration are busy searching for temples. The administration is reporting where and how old a temple has been found. In my opinion, no temple has actually been discovered; the temple has always been there. Nobody seized it, and nobody damaged it.”
He said, “There are many temples that remain empty due to the lack of worship, and the deities there are waiting for devotees. The Samajwadi Party is informing its workers and supporters that these temples were not being ‘found’ for the past seven and a half years. Before this, BJP governments were led by Kalyan Singh, Rajnath Singh, and Ram Prakash Gupta. Why weren’t these temples searched or discovered during their tenure?”
Akhilesh Yadav further said, “When the BJP government demolished centuries-old temples of Shiva, Ganesh, and Hanuman in Varanasi in the name of corridor construction, where were these so-called devotees? The BJP has completely destroyed the original essence of Varanasi. To retain power and their positions, CM Yogi Adityanath and the BJP are creating an atmosphere of hostility against Muslims among the public.”
SP President has urged RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat to publicly condemn those who are searching for temples within mosques. He stated, “The Samajwadi Party believes that Mohan Bhagwat’s advice against searching for temples in mosques is meaningless unless he publicly denounces such actions.”
