Raichur: The 4th Raichur District Inter-School Science Fair 2024 was held at University of Agricultural Sciences here recently. Schools across Sindhanur, Manvi and Jawalgera participated and displayed 106 innovative projects worked out by 223 enthusiastic students, highlighting creativity, scientific inquiry and practical solutions.
According to Mohammed Abdullah Javed, Director, AJ Academy for Research and Development, the organiser of the fair, the event reflected a rising interest in science and technology among young minds, inspiring collaboration and curiosity.
This time Millat Doctors’ Trust, Shaheen Ind. PU College and Abdur Raheem Welfare Trust joined hands in organising the fair.
The event served as a catalyst for innovation, inspiring students to explore, experiment and unleash their inner scientist. With enthusiastic participation and creative ideas, the fair demonstrated the power of collaboration and inquiry-based learning, paving the way for a brighter and more promising future.
The total 106 Physical Sciences Projects include 46 Biological Sciences, 49 Environmental Sciences, 11 Individual Projects and 52 Group Projects. Among the participants there were 103 boys and 120 girls.
Based on the judges’ evaluations and the allocation of points across multiple criteria, the following individuals have been honoured with the Scientist Awards:
Budding Scientists Award – Elementary Division: Level I – Classes IV & V: Sayeda Fabiqa of Noble Techno School, Sindhanur got first prize for her ‘Small creatures, big impact’ project in Biological Science- Individual Category, and Haya Maryam and Nabela Mahwish of Little Angles School, Raichur won in the Group Category of Biological Sciences for their ‘Are elder people always wiser and correct in their choice and opinions?’ project.
Emerging Scientists Award – Junior Division: Level II – Classes VI to VIII: Sudhanva V Varap of John Milton School Raichur stood first in Physical Sciences- Individual Category for her project ‘Renewable Energy, the power of tomorrow’. Whereas Allah Bakash and Shahnawaz from Iqra School Sindhanur got the award in Biological Sciences- Group Category for their project ‘Health Impact from Chemical fertilizers’.
Young Scientists Award Senior Division: Level III – Classes IX & X: Zoya Mehwish from Little Angles School, Raichur got the award for her project ‘Women Safety Device’ in Physical Sciences – Individual Category. And Khushal, Awais, Yashwanth, and Muziyat from Vidya Bharathi School, Raichur got the award in Physical Science – Group Category for their joint project ‘Gravity converted into Electricity’.
The concluding programme witnessed an impressive turnout of 400 attendees, including students, teachers, parents and science enthusiasts.
The final session was graced by a distinguished panel of guests Dr. Suresh B. Arakera, Coordinator, Applied Genetics, Karnataka University Dharwad; Meer Muhammad Shareef Anwar, Organising Secretary of Al-Kareem Educational Trust; Muhammad Asimuddin Akhtar, Executive Director, Shaheen PU College; Dr. M.A. Kaleem Siddiqui, President, Millat Doctors’ Trust; Dr. Bandanawaz, Professor, Navodaya Medical College; Abdul Mateen Raheemi, Abdur Raheem Welfare Trust and Muhammad Abdullah Javed, Director AJ Academy along with the panel of Judges who left the audience inspired with their profound wisdom and inspiring words.
