Preparations for Int’l Unani Medicine Day in Full Swing: AIUTC

Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan emphasises the importance of sincerity to achieve goals

 

New Delhi: The birth anniversary of Masih-ul-Mulk Hakim Ajmal Khan is celebrated annually as International Unani Medicine Day on February 12. As part of this tradition, All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC) organises a grand event every year. This year, the event is scheduled to take place at the Constitution Club in New Delhi on February 12, with preparations in full swing.

In this context, a review meeting was held today in Daryaganj, organised by the Pharmacy Wing of AIUTC, under the chairmanship of its National President, Hakim Arbabuddin, MD and head of Sadar Dawakhana and Laboratories. The meeting began with recitation of the Quran by National General Secretary, Dr. Uzair Baqai, and was moderated by Dr. Shakeel Ahmed.

Addressing the preparations, Hakim Naeem Raza highlighted the legacy of Hakim Ajmal Khan, describing him as not only a distinguished physician but also a prominent political leader, freedom fighter, educationist, and a humble personality. He stated that every member of the Tibbi Congress is committed to carrying forward his vision, and the preparations for the February 12 event are nearly complete, with minor aspects being finalised.

He also revealed that prominent practitioners from across the country would share their experiences and highlight the benefits of Unani medicine during the event, ensuring its reach to the masses.

Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan, General Secretary of the Tibbi Congress, emphasised the importance of systematic and sincere efforts in organisational activities.

“We must work with sincerity to achieve our objectives,” he said, expressing confidence in the team’s ability to execute their responsibilities effectively for the success of the event.

He also highlighted the organisation’s efforts in holding regular free Unani medical camps, attributing their success to the collective dedication of the team.

During the meeting, Hakim S.P. Bhatnagar was honoured with a memento and certificate in recognition of his contributions to Unani medicine. Speaking on the occasion, Bhatnagar underscored the historical significance of Unani medicine and the need for greater government support to promote it. He lauded the persistent efforts of the Tibbi Congress, particularly under the leadership of Dr. Syed Ahmed Khan, in advocating for the issues facing Unani medicine.

Hakim Arbabuddin expressed gratitude to Dr. Uzair Baqai and other members for their collaborative efforts in preparing for the upcoming event. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Uzair Baqai.
