Postgraduate Orientation Programme Concludes at Tibbiya College, AMU

Aligarh: The 15-day orientation programme organised for the newly-admitted postgraduate students at the Faculty of Unani Medicine, Aligarh Muslim University concluded with a valedictory programme presided over by the chief guest, Prof Rafiuddin, the Dean, Students’ Welfare.

The programme was organised under the initiative of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM), carrying forward the theme, “Transformation to Proficient Scholar” to bring the newly admitted MD/MS students under one common learning platform.

Prof. Rafiuddin appreciated such programmes and urged the students to contact his office if they have any problems during their stay at AMU.

The guest of honour, Prof. Shagufta Aleem, Former Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine highlighted the significance of orientation programmes.

Earlier, welcoming the guests and participants, the Dean, Faculty of Unani Medicine Prof Ubaidullah Khan informed that 31 lectures were delivered during the programme by resource persons coming from different disciplines covering the topics like personality development, communication skills, attitude, code of conduct, campus behaviour, e-learning resources, soft skills, AI, etc., which are not the part of PG curriculum but require them to be equipped with such traits.

He said that recreational activities, talent show quiz and competitive PowerPoint presentations were organised for the postgraduate students.

Prof. B.D. Khan, Principal, Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College highlighted the historical background of the university and the faculty.

Prof. Asia Sultana delivered a talk on “Promoting inclusivity and equality at higher education institutions (HEIs)”.

The programme coordinators, Dr Ataullah Fahad, Dr Abdul Aziz Khan and Dr Aziz ur Rahman respectively delivered a formal welcome address, conducted the programme and extended a vote of thanks.
