Jharkhand Health Minister, Dr. Irfan Ansari, has announced that every district in the state will have at least one super specialty hospital. He has instructed that provisions for this be made in the 2025-26 fiscal budget. On Monday, the Minister held a meeting with health department officials to discuss the health budget. Present at the meeting were Health Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh, Campaign Director Abu Imran, and several senior officials.
The Minister emphasised that the upcoming Jharkhand Budget 2025 will be dedicated to the people of the state, prioritising needs of common citizens, farmers, labourers, women, youth, and the elderly. Necessary arrangements will be included in the health budget to address their requirements. He urged MPs and MLAs to submit proposals based on the actual needs of their respective areas to ensure the budget is both beneficial and effective. Letters are being sent to them in this regard.
To improve healthcare services, the Minister stated that a healthy society forms the foundation of a prosperous state. Initiatives will be implemented to enhance healthcare services, ensuring the availability of essential resources from primary health centres to district hospitals. These facilities will be modernised. Special plans will be developed to provide healthcare services in every village, and sub-health centres will be established in every panchayat.
Dr. Ansari directed the Health Secretary to transfer doctors and health workers who have been stationed at the same place for more than three years, ensuring transparency and accountability in the department. Strict action will also be taken against those neglecting their duties.
He also stressed the importance of eradicating corruption and ensuring no negligence in public healthcare, and instructed the recognition and rewarding of doctors and staff who perform exceptionally well.
