Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah Resistance Movement, issued a stern warning to Israel, urging the Zionist regime to refrain from testing Hezbollah’s patience, reports the Mehr News.
In a video message released on Saturday, Sheikh Qassem emphasised, “We warn the Zionist enemy not to test our patience.” He further called on the Lebanese government to adopt a resolute stance against Israeli aggression, highlighting numerous ceasefire violations by Israel, which he claimed had occurred “hundreds of times.”
Sheikh Qassem praised the Palestinian Resistance for thwarting what he described as a major Israeli plan. “The Resistance and the Palestinian nation defeated Israel’s big plan,” he stated, adding, “We congratulate the Palestinian people and the Resistance on the ceasefire agreement, which demonstrates their steadfastness. The Resistance achieved its goals, while the enemy failed to accomplish its objectives.”
The remarks came in the wake of a ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli regime, ending prolonged hostilities in Gaza. Sheikh Qassem pointed to the growing internal disputes within Israel and reiterated his call for the complete return of Palestine to its rightful owners.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet approved a ceasefire agreement with Hamas early Saturday after extensive deliberations lasting over six hours. The deal includes the release of prisoners, set to begin on Sunday. The conflict, which spanned more than 460 days, resulted in the deaths of over 46,788 Palestinians and injuries to 110,453 others.
Sheikh Qassem reaffirmed Hezbollah’s commitment to confronting aggression and supporting the Palestinian cause, urging unity against Israeli actions. His remarks underline the heightened tensions in the region and the Resistance’s role in opposing Israeli policies.
