AAP Launches ‘Blank’ Chronicle to Expose BJP’s False Promises

– Abdul Bari Masoud

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday unveiled a “blank” book titled Delhi Mein BJP Ki Uplabdhiyan, intended to spotlight what it calls the BJP’s “false” promises, particularly those made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of Delhi and the nation.

The book was launched by AAP MP Sanjay Singh and state secretary Reena Gupta. Sanjay Singh remarked that the book underscores the BJP’s failure to fulfil key promises, including regularising Delhi’s unauthorised colonies, depositing ₹15 lakh into citizens’ bank accounts, ensuring permanent housing for all, doubling farmers’ incomes, and reducing the prices of essential commodities like petrol, diesel, and cooking gas.

“The BJP has failed to share its achievements with the public. Therefore, AAP is presenting them through this book,” Singh said sarcastically.

The book takes aim at several prominent assurances made by the PM. Among them was the promise to recover black money and deposit ₹15 lakh into every citizen’s bank account. Similarly, Modi had pledged that by August 15, 2022, every Indian would have a permanent house, and farmers would receive double the price for their crops.

Other commitments, such as reducing petrol prices to ₹50 per litre, diesel to ₹40 per litre, and cooking gas to ₹250, have also remained unfulfilled, Singh noted. He further criticised Modi for his earlier statements about the rupee’s strength being linked to national pride, pointing out the consistent depreciation of the currency under the current administration.

Singh also highlighted the unmet promise of providing proper registry documents to residents of unauthorised colonies, which remains unresolved.

Flipping through the blank pages of the book, Singh humorously commented on its “contents.” He claimed the first page details how 2 crore jobs were distributed annually, implying 22 crore jobs should now exist. The second page, he said, discusses the ₹15 lakh promised to citizens’ bank accounts and how “everyone is enjoying the benefits.”

“The third page elaborates on farmers receiving double the price for their crops, and the whole country being ecstatic about it,” Singh added mockingly. He continued his critique by referring to other “chapters,” including PM Modi’s claims of working 18 hours a day to strengthen the currency and the ties with his “capitalist friends,” which allegedly made some individuals billionaires.

He also ridiculed Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for her remarks on onions, stating that the book highlights her efforts to “reduce onion prices”.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia shared his thoughts on the book launch on X, stating: “This book was essential to showcase the achievements of BJP. The public deserves to see the scale and magnitude of lies served to them by the BJP.”
