Aligarh: The Heritage Cell, Aligarh Muslim University organised a five-day skill development programme (SDP) on Cultural Heritage, in collaboration with the Centre for Excellence in Islamic Architecture, Department of Architecture, Z.H. College of Engineering and Technology, and Moinuddin Ahmad Art Gallery, AMU.
The Programme Convener, Prof Mohammad Farhan Fazli informed that more than 65 participants from different departments, including faculty members, today began with the wall painting in front of the Department of Architecture under the guidance of the resource person, Dr M. Iftekhar Alam from MANUU, who explained the nuances of wall paintings.
Prof. Fazli said that the participants will participate in different sessions on wall painting, Islamic calligraphy, photography and sketching during the SDP, and work on these art streams at the heritage buildings in the university, including the Bheekampur Gate, Victoria Gate, Biochemistry Department, Jama Masjid, Strachey Hall, Kennedy Complex and other heritage monuments.
The resource persons Prof Sharmin Khan, Prof M. Khalid Hassan and Dr S.M. Noman Tariq were also present on the occasion.
