Aligarh: In a major development for the Unani medical community, Dr. Mohammad Mohsin has been appointed as the Secretary General of All India Unani Tibbi Conference (AIUTC) Uttar Pradesh Chapter. This appointment follows the revival of AIUTC’s presence in Uttar Pradesh, a region of historical significance in Unani medicine.
The appointment was officially communicated by Dr. Mohammad Khalid Siddiqui, General Secretary of AIUTC, New Delhi. Dr. Mohsin, a distinguished Unani expert, currently serves as Chairman, Department of Amraze Jild wa Zohrawia, and Deputy Medical Superintendent at AK Tibbiya College Hospital. Additionally, Prof. (Dr.) Anwar Saeed, Managing Director, Jamia Tibbia Deoband, has been appointed President of the state chapter, and Prof. Badrudduja Khan, Principal, AKTC AMU Aligarh, as Chairman of the State Coordination Committee.
Founded in 1928 by the legendary Hakim Ajmal Khan, AIUTC has played a pivotal role in promoting Unani medicine through research, education, and policy advocacy. The newly appointed office bearers will be felicitated during the National Conference at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, on February 16.
Dr. Mohsin expressed gratitude to AIUTC’s central body and Dr. Mohammad Khalid Siddiqui, former Director General of CCRUM, for their trust. He emphasised plans to revitalise key wings, including the academic, medical officer, research, pharmacy, and student wings, ensuring the continued advancement of Unani medicine in Uttar Pradesh.
