During its 46th foundation day at Gandhi Maidan in Dumka, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) passed a resolution rejecting the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Uniform Civil Code (UCC), and National Register of Citizens (NRC).
The 50-point resolution also reinforced the protection of tribal land under the Chotanagpur Tenancy (CNT) Act and Santal Pargana Tenancy (SPT) Act. Additionally, JMM demanded ₹1.36 lakh crore in pending central dues.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren criticized the Union budget for ignoring Jharkhand, despite its rich mineral resources. He accused the Centre of favoring the wealthy while neglecting economic relief for the poor. He also dismissed the GYAN initiative as loan-based rather than direct financial aid.
Soren highlighted Jharkhand’s ₹2,500 monthly aid scheme for women, reinforcing JMM’s commitment to social justice. The event emphasized the party’s focus on tribal rights, economic justice, and fair financial support from the Centre.
