NCPUL Hosts Literary and Poetry Sessions at World Book Fair

New Delhi: The National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) organized the Meet-the-Authors: My Creative Journey program at the Lekhak Manch during the World Book Fair at Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan). The event featured Dr. Naeema Jafri Pasha and Dr. Rizwan-ul-Haq as guest authors, while Dr. Rakhshanda Ruhi Mehdi moderated the session.
Speaking on the occasion, the authors reflected on their creative journeys. Dr. Rizwan-ul-Haq emphasized that a writer must immerse themselves in their characters to craft compelling stories, stating, “Only then can we become good creators.” He further mentioned that films and film songs played a significant role in shaping his creative journey, as his inspiration stemmed from cinema.
Dr. Naeema Jafri Pasha highlighted the importance of writing for children, stressing that it is the responsibility of the community to nurture young minds. She remarked, “If we create an Urdu-speaking environment at home, the language will never fade. Narrating stories in Urdu will always have a positive impact. Writers for children must consider their psychological and intellectual development when crafting stories.”
Earlier, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM, a poetry session titled Mahfil-e-Shero-Sukhan was held at the NCPUL stall, showcasing young poets. Saddam Hussain Mazmir from Aligarh, Khushbu Parveen from Delhi, and Safeer Siddiqui from Delhi participated in the event.
