Hamas Rejects Trump’s Proposal to Expel Palestinians from Gaza, Calls It Crime Against Humanity

Palestinian resistance group Hamas on Wednesday said that the Palestinian people will not allow US President Donald Trump’s plans to expel Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to go forward.

Rejecting Trump’s remarks that Gaza residents “have no choice but to leave,” Hamas senior leader Sami Abu Zuhri said such statements are “a recipe for creating chaos and tension in the region.” Condemning Trump’s remarks, he said it is a “crime against humanity” and a violation of international law.

“Our people in the Gaza Strip will not allow these plans to pass,” Abu Zuhri also said, adding that “what is required is to end the (Israeli) occupation and aggression against our people, not to expel them from their land.”

Dr. Basem Naim, Hamas Political Bureau Member, stated that Trump’s plan to displace Gaza’s residents and impose US control over the Strip reinforces “the law of the jungle.”

Hamas emphasised that Gaza needs reconstruction, but its crisis stems from Israel’s occupation and 17-year siege, backed by the US. Urgent international action is needed to stop such plans, which threaten regional stability. The US must ensure Israel implements the ceasefire agreement fully, without delay or manipulation. Hamas remains committed as long as Israel complies, averred Naim.

Dr. Naim welcomed the formation of “The Hague Group” by South Africa, Malaysia, Colombia, Bolivia, Cuba, Honduras, Namibia, Senegal, and Belize. The group aims to end Israeli occupation, support Palestinian self-determination, prosecute war criminals, and stop arms transfers to Israel.

He stressed that isolating the Zionist regime globally, like apartheid South Africa, is essential to ending its occupation. True justice requires prosecuting war criminals, as was done to Nazi and fascist leaders.
