New Delhi: On the eve of the Delhi Assembly election results, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched its own website to provide polling data, alleging that the Election Commission of India (ECI) refused to upload crucial voter information. AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal accused the EC of denying transparency by not publishing Form 17C, which records votes polled at each booth.
Kejriwal stated on social media, “This form contains all details of votes polled at each booth. Throughout the day, we will present data for every Assembly and every booth in a tabulated format so that every voter can access this information.”
AAP has uploaded Form 17C data for all constituencies on its website, claiming that the move ensures electoral transparency. The party criticized the EC, stating that making such data public should be the Commission’s responsibility.
The counting of votes for the high-stakes Delhi Assembly elections will begin at 8 AM on February 8. Exit polls have indicated a tight contest between AAP and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which aims to reclaim power after 27 years. Meanwhile, the Congress hopes to regain a foothold after its past electoral setbacks.
With a voter turnout of 60.54%, the results will determine whether AAP secures a fourth consecutive term or if the BJP makes a comeback in the national capital.
