Aligarh: The Faculty of Management Studies and Research (FMSR) at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), in collaboration with the Bank of Baroda (BoB), hosted a Felicitation Ceremony to honour students for their excellent performance in academics and extracurricular activities. The event underscored the commitment of both institutions to nurturing talent and encouraging holistic development.

Presiding over the ceremony, AMU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Naima Khatoon appreciated Bank of Baroda’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, describing it as an “instrumental and benevolent move.” She emphasised AMU’s legacy of excellence and urged students to contribute towards societal, institutional and national development.
In his address, the chief guest, Mr. Krishna Kumar, Deputy Regional Head, Bank of Baroda, highlighted BoB’s enduring legacy since 1908 and its ongoing CSR contributions. He commended AMU’s contributions to society and encouraged students to prepare themselves for meaningful service to the nation.
Further reinforcing BoB’s commitment to CSR, Mr. Dilip K. Prasad, Regional Head and AGM, Bank of Baroda, outlined the bank’s global footprint, with 8,500 branches across 17 countries serving about 17 crore customers. He emphasised the bank’s commitment to initiatives such as women empowerment and skill development for students.
He mentioned that the Achiever Award, launched in 2021, recognizes outstanding MBA colleges, with FMSR being among the select few from over 700 institutions nationwide.
The guest of honour, Prof. Rafiuddin, Dean, Students’ Welfare (DSW), AMU, encouraged students to embrace opportunities for competition and active participation. He acknowledged the role of faculty in shaping student aspirations and credited the university’s growth to its dynamic leadership.
Prof. Ayesha Farooq, Dean, FMSR, provided insights into BoB’s CSR initiative and thanked the bank for recognising FMSR students with the Achiever Award. She elaborated on the rigorous selection process undertaken by a dedicated committee to identify deserving recipients in three distinct categories, Academic Excellence, Excellence in Sports and All-round Performance, and congratulated the winners for their exceptional achievements.
Earlier, in her welcome address, Prof. Salma Ahmed, Chairperson, DBA, congratulated the awardees and encouraged them to strive for greater success, bringing pride to their alma mater.
She said that the students who have been selected for the award under the three categories include Mohd Kashif Naseem (MBA) and Mehal Yadav (MBAIB) for Academic Excellence, Tushar Sharma (MBA) for Excellence in Sports and Asjad Ali Khan (MBA) and Firdaus Ansari (MBA) for their All-Round Performance.
The event was conducted by Sauda Parveen, an MBA student, while the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Maria Alam.
