Hyderabad: Addressing a one-day workshop on short story writing and essay writing, Dr. Muhammad Khalid Mubashir Zafar, Ameer-e-Halqa of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Telangana, described literature as an important medium for the promotion of ideologies. Highlighting the interrelationship between ideological movements, philosophy, and literature, he stated that literary works play a significant role in determining the intellectual direction of nations.
Professor Muhammad Abdul Sami Siddiqui, in his discussion on “Introduction to Literary Genres,” presented a detailed analysis of various literary forms, their significance, and their evolution.
Dr. Feroz Alam, speaking on “The Art of Short Story Writing,” elaborated on the fundamental structure, techniques, and creative style of storytelling.
Mr. Muhammad Ahmed, discussing “The Art of Humorous Essay Writing,” shed light on the characteristics, style, and literary status of essays.
The workshop commenced with recitation of the Quran by Mr. Abdul Qadeer. In the inaugural session, Dr. S.M. Fasihullah, Director of HRD, introduced the HRD department, its activities, and objectives.
Mr. Abdul Ahad Sohail provided detailed insights into the Idara-e-Adab Islami Hind and its academic and literary activities.
The workshop was moderated by Mr. Abdul Ahad Sohail and Mr. M.G. Azhar, with technical assistance provided by Abdul Aziz.
Around 40 participants attended the workshop and showed keen interest in the question-and-answer session. The attendees emphasised the need for more such training workshops to further nurture intellectual and literary interests.
