Hyderabad : SIO Telangana released a booklet on budget recommendations for FY 2025-26, addressing education and youth welfare gaps.
The launch at SIO Telangana Headquarters was attended by Faraz Ahmed, the State President and secretaries, Syed Imaduddin , Mohammad Hammaduddin ,Mohammad Taj and Absar ul Haq.
The report highlights underfunding, poor infrastructure, teacher shortages, and dropouts. ASER 2024 states only 18% of Classes III-V students can read Class II texts, and 49% can do basic subtraction. Outdated curricula harm employability.
Youth unemployment in Telangana is 16.6% (national: 10.2%). SIO urges investment in skill-building, mental health, and entrepreneurship.
The digital divide affects 32% of government school students. SIO recommends expanding infrastructure, subsidizing internet, and integrating digital learning.
RTF scheme issues persist. Despite ₹300 crore allocated in 2024-25, only ₹41.86 crore was disbursed, leaving 1.2 lakh applications pending. SIO demands timely, transparent scholarship disbursal.
Higher education suffers as 73% of university teaching posts remain vacant. SIO calls for urgent faculty recruitment.
Infrastructure in government schools is lacking—26% without furniture, only 53% with separate girls’ toilets. SIO proposes an “Infrastructure Revival Mission.”
Faraz Ahmed said, “Education is key to progress. A 20% budget allocation is crucial for a skilled generation.”
Hammaduddin added, “Our demands reflect real student issues. The government must ensure access, quality, and equity.”
