In a horrifying case from Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district, 40-year-old Sajid was burned alive after refusing to withdraw an FIR against former village head Bhola Yadav. The case, involving charges of gangrape and abduction of Sajid’s wife, was scheduled for a court hearing in two days.
On Tuesday, Sajid’s charred body was found in a field, allegedly doused in diesel and set ablaze by Yadav’s henchmen. His father, Ashiq Ali, accused Yadav of orchestrating the brutal murder, stating that his son was killed for seeking justice.
Sajid’s wife recounted the trauma she endured in June 2022 when Yadav and two associates raped her after luring her to his house under false pretenses. She was later kidnapped and held captive for over four months. Despite initial police reluctance, legal intervention ensured the inclusion of gangrape charges in the case.
